Abstract
This study was made to investigate the usefulness of o-Aminolevulinic acid as a leadabsorption-parameter about 256 workers in a electronic company from September 1988 to February 1989. Log transformation was made about ALAU (v-Aminolevulinic acid in urine) to study the dose-response relationship between ALAU and blood lead level.¢¥ Stepwise multiple regression analysis was made to investigate the relative contribution of parameters on the blood lead level.
The results were as follows;
1. If ALAU of 5mg/1 were selected as response level in the dose-response effects of lead on hematopoietic system, 98.7%% of positive response was showed in the subjects whose PbB level were below 40,ug/100ml.
2. According to a stepwise multiple regression analysis, Log-ALAU was revealed to be the most effective to explain blood lead level and the regression equation was PbB=8.57730+34.22664(Log-ALAU) +0.11786(Age) +0.97300(ALAU) +1.33357(Sex).
3. Considering from the results of our examination and study, it is recommended to use ALAU after log-transformation in predicting the blood lead level under 60pg/l00ml, and, therefore, the measurement of ALAU could be recommended as one of good reliable test method to replace the very difficult measurement of PbB in industrial setting.
